Three things are worth writing about, and one is worth far more than the others.

A result that looks wrong

This is the message we most want. A wrong number is treated as urgent, so give us enough to reproduce it in one go:

• Which page you were on.
• The exact inputs you entered, including the ones you left at their defaults.
• The number you expected, and where it came from if you have it.

"The mortgage calculator is off" cannot be chased down. "On the mortgage calculator, $350,000 at 6.5% over 30 years with $70,000 down gives me $1,769.79 and my lender quotes $1,771.20" can be, in minutes. Small differences often have a cause worth explaining, and that explanation usually ends up on the page.

A calculator you want

Tell us what you are trying to work out rather than what to name it. Knowing the decision you are stuck on shapes the inputs far better than a title does. Requests do move things up the order, though each one still needs its formulas sourced, tested and written up before it goes live.

Business enquiries

Advertising, partnerships and anything commercial. We do not sell links, sponsored posts or placements inside results, and asking will get a polite no.

What we cannot answer

Personal financial, tax, legal and medical questions. Not because we mind being asked, but because answering them properly needs a professional who can see your full situation and is accountable for the advice. One person running a calculator site is not that, and pretending otherwise would be worse than saying no.
